Did you know that in a PG-13 rated movie, one cannot “take the name of the Lord in vain” ?
MM asked:
According to the Motion Picture Code, you cannot use any words that take the name of “God” in vain, such as “Jesus Christ!!!”, or “Goddamn!” in any PG-13 Rated movie.

You can, however, say “Sh*t” as many times as you wish, and even use the “F” word twice.
Is this not a fine example of Hypocrisy?

Yes it is.
it is a very fine example of hypocrisy
Uh that’s not true. Go watch the PG-13 rated movie “The Breakup” with Vince Vaughn. The Lord’s name is taken in vain many times.
And you can only use the F word once in a PG-13 movie. Your source is not credible.
*edit* I love the thumbs down for being right.
“God” is much more offensive to hear. It’s hypocrisy that it is only banned when used in vain.
Not to me. I believe that filthy communication is not good in any movie, however, taking the Lord’s name in vain is a serious offense in the eyes of God. If you will notice, almost all of the R rated movies use the Lord’s name in vain at least once.
I suppose, but honestly, we have bigger fish to fry.
Personally I rather hear someone talking about f*cking, than Christ.
I think it’s also okay to use the “F” word as an adjective not a verb. As in it is okay to say “I love that F’ing guy.” NOT “I love F’ing that guy.”
All films should be banned from “taking the name of the Lord in vain.”
no…your only taking the lords name in vain of you put God nad Jesus christ in it. The other curse words are just thrown in their my society- that’s my opinion anyway.
