Motion blur from slightest movement on Canon EOS Rebel XS?
TaiM asked:
I just got this camera and I always seem to get blurry pictures from the slightest movements. I tried it on Tv mode but nothing but darkness appears. Is there a way to set it really high so that it has no time to blur? or is there some other way to prevent it? (without using flash, of course.)

Let me guess. This only happens when you are shooting indoors and you are shooting in low light, right?
To get the highest shutter speed in any lighting, you need to put the camera in the aperture priority mode with the lens wide open. If the shutter speed still isn’t fast enough, then you will have to up the ISO until it is. It may be you will get noisy photos, but your only choice at that point is very noisy or very blurry images.
From your question, you could certainly be helped by taking a class or two in photography
OK it sounds like you need to bump your iso up so you can take photos fast enough to get rid of the blur and still be exposed properly. So nudge it up to 800 and give it a try if thats not enough try 1600 I’m not sure on canon what level you need to make sure noise reduction is on On my nikons I rarely turn it on at these levels but if you shoot at these ISos and get noise then turn it on.
Added fhotoace beat my post but were on the same page so maybe I should just say yeah what he said
